Dynamo Dogsports

Pros: beautiful facilities Cons: "balanced training" aka not positive reinforcement or fear free Instructions to "pop" your dogs collar and even to do so repeatedly as punishment for bad behavior. If the pet owner wasn't willing to do it instructor took leash and did it Passive aggressive coaching. If someone in class was doing something incorrectly instructor was bad mouthing them behind their back to other students instead of coaching the student how to do it better Young dogs not yet fully grown (less than 12 months old) with joints growth plates still not fully closed being pushed to jump heights not appropriate to their physical development Young dogs (less than 12 months old) falling off a full height dog walk and limping and the owners bring told to get their dogs to immediately do it again so they don't become afraid of it

Dynamo Dogsports is an excellent place for dog training for agility, scent hurdling, rally obedience and many other sports. Seanna and team offer a dog-centric approach to safely training dogs of all levels and all sizes for sports. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

My dog and I have been training here for a while now, and all the teachers have been fantastic and so supportive. At the beginning I was thinking about quitting because I had such a hard time with my dog barking, wanting to play with other dogs, etc., but the teachers kept me going and gave me a ton of advice. We've done agility, barn hunt, rally, and scent hurdling and enjoyed all of them!

Went for classes here recently & it’s definitely not my favourite place. The front entrance is not well organized, crowded & extremely chaotic with owners pausing to take their shoes on & off while hyped up dogs are passing through a narrow crowded hallway. I understand the building can’t be changed but possibly an active working receptionist to tend to & greet clients or improving the flow of classes starting & stopping could be revised. The classes were interesting for my dog & he really enjoyed them. However as an 'introduction' class to barn dog, I was under the impression it was for fun & to learn more about this concept. I found the one instructor took the classes too seriously which made me feel uncomfortable & intimidated as a dog owner. I’m not competing in the moment that we are learning the concepts of the sport. I understand this IS a dog sport & it has rules as such, but I’d suggest mentioning any criticisms in a less pointed or less condescending manner. Tone of voice means a lot to dogs & also to their owners. -- FYI this organization is not listed under the Alberta Force Free Alliance, so PLEASE be aware of that prior to signing up to their courses if that goes against your philosophy.

Just signed up for my 3rd Session of Barn Dog.Great Facility and even better instructors ! Annie has been so kind and supportive while we learn

If you are looking for a welcoming, inclusive, safe, supportive place for you and your dog to participate in dogsports, look no further. Dynamo has phenomenal teachers that are well prepared, efficient and experienced. The facility is fantastic (even warm in the winter!) and the community of dog owners who participate in Dynamo classes and trials are some of the most supportive and welcoming people I've met in Edmonton.

My girlfriend has been taking our dog here from the past few months. He has grown so much in ability in that small time frame it blows my mind. The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable, the facility is clean and your dog will become better behaved through thiers and your training. Great little business in the City.

This place is my second home. Kirsten, Seanna, and the other instructors are knowledgeable and classed are fun! They also have great trails where you can co.pete and test your skills. Classes offered in barnhunt, rally, agility, flyball, basic obedience, scent hurdling and scent detection. There really is something for everyone!
